Introducing: Patron of the Seas

Introducing the new FORMAS (formas.se) funded project “Patron of the Seas-Rethinking patron-client relationships in small-scale fisheries”.

Hi there all!

My new mobility grant funded by the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development (i.e. formas) starts this month January 2023! This is my first big girl grant as a researcher and it funds 100% of my salary for 3-4 years but no collaborators so i’ll be alone 😦 Its designed for early career researchers in Sweden to spread their wings and go off and work in different research environments around the world. I chose to go back to the University of the Philippines Visayas and work with Prof. Alice Ferrer and her amazing team. I worked with Prof Alice during my PhD, and spent a few months in 2015 and 2017 in Iloilo researching the small-scale fishery market system and value chains there (For more info on this project check my projects page for the project STEP & thesis Catching Values of Small-Scale Fisheries).

I will start this new project off very slowly as I am about to have my second child now in February 2023. I would love to find great students to collaborate with and support in any internships/thesis, in the Phillippines especially! Also, importantly, any practioners I could support with my data and research questions. Feel free to contact me!
